Cooking Poetry

THE IRISH ECHO

Cooking Poetry

Sometimes I help with dinner
Especially in the winter
I never cook alone
Or we might eat some stone
I cook dinners and breakfast
That’s about it
When my dog smells the food
He throws a big fit
Ammo’s always there
looking for our silver ware

Inspired by Laura Numeroff.

                        THE IRISH ECHO

A Cooking Poet

Cooking, stewing, baking
Served, Peoples’ happy faces

Chewing food and drinking drinks
Stuffing one by one with great pleasure

Cooking, stewing, baking
The worlds greatest things
I make smiles light up
Teeth shine in the light

Cooking, stew, baking
Bringing people together
Family reunions,
  Laughing, enjoying family and friends
Always enjoying company

A New Biker!!

         THE IRISH ECHO

Riding a bike
Age five not easy,
Not one bit

The pain on my face
As I fall face first
Want to ride faster ,and better
So I try again

Family support pushes me farther
Like wings on a bird,
Nothing standing in my way

One lap around
You did it
I have made it past the first part
Of my goal.

Poetry and Me

THE IRISH ECHO

Poetry and Me

Poetry and I
We’re best buddies
I write poems all the time

My favorite is acrostic
I have a lot to say about my friend poem
don’t keep him in a chrome dome

Poetry is my safe island
My sanctuary of peace
My shelter in a lightning storm

He has  got me A+’s before and can get them for you
They won’t  bite
So grab a pencil and start to write

About my Book.

The book I’m reading is ” The Nickname Game “. I like the book and I believe you will too. It instantly catches your attention.

So far it is pretty cool. There is a new girl in this book. Wiley and Jeff can not give her a nickname because she has so many different things about her. Because there is so many things different about her, it is making it hard for Wiley and Jeff  to come up with a nickname that will cover all of it. What really grabbed me is straight out the gate their substitute teacher was given the nickname Mr. Huge and his real name is Mr. Hughes. This is a fairly funny book and on a scale of 1-10, I give it a 6. These two kids, Wiley and Jeff give everyone a nickname like Snoopy and Skunk! Some are funnier than others! Right now, I am in the beginning of the book and I find it moderately funny. I recommend this book to my fellow students who would like to have a good read and a few laughs. So, check this book out and I know you will like it too.

My Uncle’s a Veteran!!!

I decided to write about my uncle. He was in the air force. Now he teaches people to fly planes. Today was our ‘ Veterans Day ‘ program, so I decided to honer him buy writing about him. He’s a great uncle, and cares a lot. He was good he did. He LOVES his family and went in to the military to protect us. I’m not only trying to honer my uncle, I thank all those have served or is serving in the military, You should thank them to.” Thank you all. “

If you have read this please write a ‘ Vet’s Day ‘ post.

Why/Why not post my life story on “KidStream”

We are doing a post about if we would post our life story on a web site “KidStream” to become popular like Catalina. You can find the book at ‘ Amazon ‘.Or if you want to know what we’re talking about come to ‘ Reading Workshop

I wouldn’t post my life story on a web site. If any one wanted to know about me, then they could come to me and ask. Even if a bully was after me, I’d be like Elliot and fight them head on. Except I would be smart about it and think it through.

If you put your life story on a web sight,  it could make it worse. They might get scared enough to come into your house and wreck what ever you used to get the word out, like your computer.  Besides if your at the bottom of the the school rank system for popularity, It is not going to help you out a lot.  The  popular kids can manipulate the others in the school and turn them against you.

Catalina’s post helped her because she had an interesting life, where  Elliot has always been a dinosaur freak. Russell has two friends and and an eighth grader is bullying him. A story can’t help what sixth graders are going to do about being bullied. Richie Tucker (the bully)would rip them to shreds for telling a life story an telling about his bullying ways. Therefore, I believe posting  a life story could only make things worse at this age! Maybe after I grow up and become a Chef, then I would write a life story.

That Was Coooolll!!!

The book I’m reading is “Little House in the Big Woods“, the best part so far was when there was a dance at Laura’s Grandfathers house. All the women wore beautiful Calico dresses, except Laura’s mom. She wore a Delain dress with a leaved pattern that Laura said, “They looked like strawberries scattered all over it.” The men wore there best  boots, jeans, and shirts. It was awesome. I have always enjoyed reading books writen by Laura Engles-Wilder and her grandson Roger Lea McBride. I would of loved to live during this time era. The books are about family, living, struggles, and the praire.

Dear Granny Grunt!

October 5, 2011

Dear Granny Grunt,

I am writing to you from Ohio. I’m doing an assignment for “Grandfriends’ Day.” We are allowed to write to any older person in the family, so I chose you. You don’t know how much I love you. I just like going to your house to spend time with you.

I remember when we’d go outside, and you’d sit back and laugh while we would try to run away from the dogs. Once we were out of breath we’d sit on the porch and pet the dogs and talk about anything. Sometimes it was about video games that you didn’t understand, but the way you tried was what made those talks good memories.

When you had to do work, you would let us play outside with our cousins. And when you got back we’d go inside and have popsicles. After a while we’d get an apple. The best time of all was when you made your chicken and noodle soup. I say you add stuff but you swear you didn’t. What made you the best Grandma of all was you cared more than any grandma wish too, and that made me Happy. I love you very much.

These are some of the best memories I’ve had at your house, and I wish to have more when I come down.
Love,

Kody Barker

I think Tom Brady’ s success relates to achievements in the classroom. Like never giving up gets you a touchdown, in the classroom it gives you an  A+ on a paper. I think if more children watched his video we’d have better test scores.

Kids around the world should never give up,because later in life it will help our economy. Brady is a good role model  for kids everywhere.

I think he can change kids everywhere and mold them into awesome children. Tom Brady’s cool.
